was thinking about something similar this weekend.. roughly: social media = broad[est]casting group dms = narrow[est]casting = social network and a whole spectrum in between p interesting to me that no app to date has been able to succeed at both? but it feels intuitively like they should be complements (e.g. group chats being upstream of the feed where culture is ~created before ~dispersed; a healthy group chat culture should create better feed content and drive more consistent engagement) always felt like twitter dm shittiness held back the overall ecosystem. currently using warpcast dms way more than i ever did twitter dms and it slowly feels like it's becoming my preference over tg for crypto-centered group chats (which i think is a p good sign)
