You are what you eat, they said 🍵 Cut the plantain into small slices, season with cinnamon and sugar and place in the oven to bake. Make an avocado paste with a little kewpie, black pepper, salt, coriander, parmesan cheese, and spread it on a 48 loaf of sourdough bread with a gnarly egg. chop chives and sprinkle on top.

The act of surfing the waves is deeply satisfying in a way that leads us to metaphysical explanations. Generations of surfers, addicted to such moments of transcendental happiness, have made material sacrifices to be there, in the water, on a specific beach, point or reef, at the exact moment when the waves will be at their best. Surfing has created communities of outsiders who avoid traditional capitalist motivations and purposely live on the real margins of traditional society. There are also those who see surfing and think it is a sport: a game, a competition with rules and judges to separate winners from losers. Others see a lifestyle that can be transformed into a commodity and marketed for profit.
