make a product people want then worry about a token

Many people wouldn't use most crypto protocols if there wasn't an airdrop attached to it. 

The number of crypto winners shrinks to 3-10 projects (MM, Uniswap, ENS ... what else?) if you use this as a benchmark.

I still feel this way, but the path is much more difficult. 

Worth it, maybe, but difficult.

When you have the opportunity to give out an incentive, you should really use it to try to build something sustainable with that incentive and think hard about the edge cases where it doesn't become sustainable or sticky for users 

Otherwise, you're just giving out incentives for nothing but a quick hype cycle bc people follow incentives unless there's a product that serves a need or desire
