Any creative process is affected by external stimuli. The relationship between the stimulus and the writer impacts speed, flow, productivity, and of course, output.

Well, I’m somewhat a creative myself.

That’s a good point about external stimuli. Setting should be part of the list. The where of your best work.

A few years ago I moved back in with my parents for a few months. To my surprise, it was impossible to write in that setting. Only when I was in my own place could the words flow again.
