SURVIVE - EXPAND - CONTROL
These three keywords define the phases that form the core gameplay of Dune: Awakening.
First, we must survive; protect ourselves from scorching heat, learn how to find water, and avoid sandworms. Then, we begin establishing a base, building vehicles to explore the surroundings, expanding and developing our base, and perhaps even relocating to a more strategic point on the map. Finally, once we've uncovered what the world has to offer, we'll compete to take control of the Spice.
There are two obvious ways to avoid the heat: travel at night or stick to the shadows; the dynamic day-night cycle causes shadows to shift with the sun's movement. For situations where these options aren't available, we can enhance our heat resistance with a stillsuit or set up portable shelters using stilltents. We’ll learn how to craft these from Fremen rituals.
