Just realized how personal and fundamental of a belief this is for me. It's why I resonate with our current Nursery School, with Montessori, with the toys I choose, with how I talk with my son, with how I teach classes, and so on, and so on. Also why I was so angry at the system as a teenager who desperately wanted to do more.
