And to what extent did you "bet the farm" vs keeping some income streams safe for more of a barbell approach?

I didn’t put too much of “the farm” at risk, the amount in crypto just ended up dominating the rest of our investments and assets. The way I *did* unintentionally bet the farm was by not working on my other projects for that 1.5yr, a lot of my other work withered and that income died. Sad.

No, when friends ask me about “getting into crypto” I usually tell them they should either quit their job and join a crypto company and fully commit to drinking from the firehose, or they should just DCA into BTC/ETH and check in on the news sometimes. Very hard to do it halfway imo, and that’s the easiest way to become exit liquidity.
