Why is the aesthetic of gyms, even the good ones, always so lifeless? Always black and grey and white everywhere. I want fans blowing air in my face at 12 km/h and a simulation of running along a forest path in a magical fantasy world .... or at least some plants.

yeah but you could like at least put up walls with a picture of trees on them, one-time cost and even that alone would make me enjoy them significantly more

Actually not a terrible idea, take it a step further and gyms could hire local artists to paint a mural on the walls.
