So let me preface this with "your coin; your rules" so this all certainly your call @betashop.eth re: /moxie but this seems a bit hasty. I've found that carrots tend to work better than sticks. So regarding this "we feel that $250 in rewards is a generous amount after which to require everyone to play in the system in order to continue earning," which on its face isn't unreasonable except some people have actually put in funds to support the experiment but are likely being swept up into this. No idea where I am in regards to rewards and haven't received this notice yet BUT I couldn't actually claim my airdrop when moxie first launched so I put in 1 eth of my own funds so that I could support the project and buy some fan tokens etc. (continued in replies)

During the Moxie Community Call today, @betashop.eth acknowledged that some of the latest moves were a bit hasty. I completely understand not wanting to launch your own fan token, especially if you have not yet to this point. All that means is that you won’t be earning Moxie via your personal interactions. It sounds like you can still earn via holding fan tokens, which can be more significant than personal earnings. I’d also imagine that you can still earn via other ways such as the retro grants by contributing to the protocol. For example, I’d imagine that you were eligible for Retro 1 (even if you didn’t apply) because of your contributions to sharing about the protocol via your early interview with @betashop.eth and other discussions you’ve had about Moxie on /gmfarcaster. Retro grant 2 starts now and ends Jan 5th. I believe the team is trying their best to make sure that the rewards are ending up in the pockets of those that who are contributing to the protocol growing.

It sounds to me like you got caught in the crosshairs of some of the drains on Moxie that are being addressed. The communication could have been smoother in relaying this information to people such as you who are being affected, but are not non players. It sounds like some nuance could have been added in so that people such as yourself didn’t feel like you got smacked. Hopefully, it all gets addressed and you still feel motivated to participate in some capacity as you are as valuable a member of the community as they come.

Thanks Zach! from what I can tell, vesting from airdrop will continue but no, you no longer earn from fan tokens you hold without launching your own. Had a lot of good convos on this today and totally get what the team is struggling with. We didn't put in for the retro grant but will give it a thought.
