If I had to guess the way this works

Tokens launch at a 300k FDV using a uni v3 pool and the first wave of volume does not move the price as there is very thick liquidity at that tick

Prevents snipers from getting extremely cheap price and supports early price discovery

That's right. The first 12.5% of the supply on uniswap is LP'd at a fixed price w/ 80eth market cap. After that is sold off, the full Uniswap curve kicks in for 50%.
