An interesting fact about cryptocurrency: In 2010, programmer Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 bitcoins for two pizzas from Papa John's, which became the first documented purchase using bitcoin. At the time of the transaction, it was about 25 US dollars, and today those bitcoins would be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. This event is now known as "Bitcoin Pizza Day" and is celebrated annually on May 22 by the cryptocurrency community.
