Gonna use the chance to introduce myself a bit.
At the moment, I am a freelance translator, mainly doing subtitles for movies and series. In the last 6 years I've translated over 6000 various assets, and this feels like one of the best jobs in the world.
I also co-own a little fast-food joint in Kaliningrad, Russia.
In the past, I was a purchasing/category manager in sportswear (Reebok), Liquors and Tobacco (Heinemann Duty free), and e-commerce (Inditex).
I also enjoy being a father of two wonderful girls, 5 and 10 yo.
And, naturally, I have a certain interest in crypto and web3, otherwise I just wouldn't cast this here on FC.

Curious how your roles as a translator are being impacted by AI?  Have a friend who did voiceover translation work awhile back and just thought the work would be automated.

Oh, the AI stuff is definitely coming into our business. I'm pretty confident it is going to push many of us out. We won't be fully replaced but it'll change the way we work in such a way that much less 'human touch' is needed. That is also why I'm diversifying into fast-food business and crypto.
