I wish people would (sometimes, at least?) take a step back and appreciate how cool what Ethereum has done is. None of what it has gotten to was a given, and it's a super-powerful primitive, taken as a whole. We take for granted most of the best things it already does.

From 2014-2015 the EF spec’d and shipped the EVM, the protocol, the network, Solidity, and Mist. Absolutely insane pacing. Imo it would take a team of 5-10 engineers to ship in the same time frame with a spec already in hand.

Every chain today has "anti-network" effects where as there are more users and traction, everything gets more expensive. The only plausible ways to fix this are to scale horizontally with L2s/rollups or reduce your node count and beef up hardware.

Do builders need more support to make multichain development easier? Yes. Doesn't mean the rollup roadmap is bad because now you need to deploy to multiple chains. Heck, Uniswap deployed on BNB (of all places). People will always chase economic opportunities in foreign lands.

VCs w/experience understand this & welcome the reset, the market needed time to wash out & recalibrate-this is a healthy correction for the asset class. Newer VCs that started in the hype cycle are rattled & starting to churn out. This was all v predictable

I agree with you. The challenge is in correctly buying now what the market will view as pieces worth collecting in the future. For example it's hard to know now what who will be the NFT equivalent of a Rembrandt or a Picasso.
