Check out the west-side bike/running path, its amazing and runs about the entire length of Manhattan. 

Loved taking it either ways up to the lighthouse under the GW, or to the parks in the Battery where there's a bunch of trees to read under with views of the Statue of Liberty 🗽

Ya its elite from a city perspective, the whole path is protected and seperated.

You can also bike to/from Williamsburg & Manhattan via the Williamsburg bridge. The way up is a test but the views are amazing.
