Here's a podcast interview (45 min) for fans of Jenny Odell's book "How To Do Nothing." Love this intro: "In this conversation, we talk about the importance of activities that canβt be optimized β listening to another person, taking care of ourselves, contemplating a new idea β and why truly taking time to pay attention to the little things is an act of resistance." https://hurryslowly.co/jenny-odell/

I read the Medium article linked. Such a gem! π©΅ Loved the #NOMO - necessity of missing out. It's a sibling of $ROBTL - relief of being too late.

Yes. That article is worth a re-share in this channel on its own. I especially love the concept of "architecture of nothing" - i.e., not necessarily minimalism, but architecture as structure specifically designed to hold contemplative space. The world needs more of that! I love NOMO too, and JOMO - joy of missing out.

Contemplative space architecture π― I spent last week with friends starting the build of a labyrinth very much inspired by this one featured in the article.

!!!! π Fantastic. I've always wanted to build a classical style labyrinth. May I ask where it's located? (No worries if you want to keep it on the down-low, but I had to ask... lol).

It's a bit hidden but not secret ;) located not far from Berlin. People can visit by taking part in this and other activities by Cityplot Berlin: https://www.cityplot.org/workshops-berlin/permaculture-and-presence-2024

Interesting. Haven't been to Germany myself, but my paternal ancestral line is from Brandenburg. Love the focus on full presence and deep attentiveness, including spending the day in silence. Thanks for sharing this.
