Casting this to /superrare because SR tipping system includes 5% claimable by the tipper. How are people responding to that so far @humanzero? I think 50% proposed by @robrecht for degen is too much and defeats the (de)generosity economy effect unleashed by tipping allowances. Tip allo is such a great innovation! Something that didn't exist before and is having, and will have even more, far reaching effects. Don't ruin it.

I think creating a system where people can buy their way into positions of power defeats the generosity economy, and I'm losing interest in being a part of this ongoing social experiment ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ it's fun to tinker with new toys but (this is a me and my mental health thing) I need consistency.

Maybe? But this doesn't really address the "more DEGEN staked, bigger tipping allocation" issue. There will still be a power imbalance that is reinforced by engagement farming because ppl will identify those who have the largest allo and try to get their attention for some DEGEN. Those tippers, who bought the highest allos by virtue of having the most "disposable" DEGEN to lock, will grow to become even more visible.

This season was supposed to be more equitable because the allowance was capped at 10k. Previously the top ranked people could get 100s of thousands of degen allowances, so 10k being the cap SHOULD have helped a lot with flattening the curve. But allowances are based on the percentage of your stake in the whole. So the whales "overstaking" way more than is necessary to get to the 10k cap just makes all the smaller stakers have less possible percentage that their stakes are worth and so have smaller allowances. It's a new kind of unfairness. And even more sad because overstaking doesn't benefit the whales either. It hurts everyone. And the locks ensure that it will be like this for at least 3 months. Though the allowance algo can be changed, so ๐Ÿคž for that.

There's a handy Dune query to show how much the allowance shrinks depending on the total value staked. This screenshot is for the minimum 10k lock, you can check other values by moving the cursor over the graph. https://dune.com/queries/3909143/6570605
