Last cycle this was one of the biggest problems I noticed with artists.

They are great at what they do but not great at marketing themselves.

There are obviously some exceptions.

This applies to more than just artists.

What makes you want to create art is most often completely at odds with market values. Marketing is the anti-art.

i would argue that we are very busy making the art . then we cast it . that's a lot of work right there . 
i find a lot of great art easily here . more easily than on IG or X . just go to any art related channel . finding art has never been easier . same with collecting . collecting and appreciating art is also art .

Marketing means pushing art into people who are not actively looking for it.

This is the part that feels anti-art to artists.
