Outside of a non-benevolent despot, plutocratic token voting is literally the worst form of "governance". So, it's the other way round, DAOs should study and adopt better forms of governance from the real world w/ a millennia of innovation. See: Optimism for some inspiration, but IMO we can go a lot further than that.

If it's not clear enough, DAOs are conceptually great but they will never work. I mean they work for some (few) but they aren't DAOs anymore. There's nothing decentralized enough in DAOs. Using smart contracts for voting and even for implementation doesn't make it decentralized. At best it's automation managed by few powerful groups/entities.

Also, making DAOs to give grants isn't a novelty anymore. DAOs should be much more than that but yet nearly all the focus goes to the treasury.
