What I want from the EF isn't for them to lead Ethereum; we are decentralized. I want them to foster Ethereum's development, which they are doing. Thus, regardless of who leads the EF, it doesn't change my timeline for Ethereum. If the aim is to push the EF to do more marketing, there's no need to attack them on CT. Dany is incredible for Ethereum's development and can be just as useful in roles other than leading the EF. It's the community's role to spread positive word about Ethereum; we are DECENTRALIZED. Focusing solely on the EF is missing the forest for the trees.

Reminder to all: Ethereum is one of humanity's greatest projects; it is decentralized and open to everyone. Its success does not hinge on any single entity. The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is just a drop in the ocean compared to the entire Ethereum ecosystem. What they've achieved so far is a bonus, a net positive. Similarly, Ethereum is not dependent on U.S. politics; that's merely a phase, with the only influence being whether it speeds up or slows down adoption. Moreover, Bitcoin is not a competitor to Ethereum; I believe Ethereum has a better chance of succeeding if Bitcoin does well too. The key is to enhance Ethereum and make it as universally useful as possible.

As a solo staker, I support this compromise because it could increase the number of solo stakers. With maxEB, only solo stakers are still constrained by the 32 ETH minimum. (I also hope that after pectrA, we'll see a strong consolidation and a reduction in the number of validators, making room for more solo stakers without greatly increasing the network load.) We have some leeway regarding bandwidth, but we need to be cautious. Internet connectivity heavily depends on location, and until multiple satellite internet solutions are widely available, this remains a challenge. The geographical diversification of the validator set is one of its most important properties. By lowering the minimum required ETH, we can increase the number of solo stakers, but we must optimize the bandwidth bottleneck in the long term if we want to make staking more accessible and maintain network health.

Cross-posting a thought on staking from the other app: ------ Perhaps we should recognize that 32 ETH is much more of a barrier for stakers than bandwidth reqs, and temporarily do a trade where we up the bandwidth reqs a bit and in exchange drop the staking deposit minimum to eg. 16 or 24 ETH. It's net-good for both staking accessibility and scale. Then once we figure out peerdas, bandwidth reqs go back down, and once we figure out orbit SSF, the deposit minimum can drop to 1 ETH.

I was about to ask @jmann.eth when he would make a song using all 2048 words from the BIP 39 Wordlist so that everyone could have a song including their seed phrase, but it turns out he already partially did it in the song 'Seed Poems | Song A Day #4934' !
