A group of diverse Web3 and DeFi industry leaders sent a letter requesting a meeting this month with the campaign policy team of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign partner Tim Walz to discuss the importance of developing a policy and regulatory framework for Web3 and deFi to promote innovation in the United States. The letter was signed by Cleve Mesidor, founder of WOC Blockchain, Olayinka Odeniran, founder of Black Women Blockchain, and Tonya Evans, professor at the Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University. The letter also mentions that black, Latino, Asian, and Indigenous communities were the first to adopt cryptocurrencies and remain one of the largest user groups of cryptocurrencies to this day.
