The Product Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has endorsed the use of blockchain-based technologies to manage collateral for trades in derivatives in America, according to its Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC) on November 21. The report notes that blockchain technology, including distributed ledgers and tokenization, could address the longstanding challenges of traditional derivatives exchanges, while expanding the range of assets that can be used to collateralize transactions. Trump may appoint a pro-crypto commissioner to lead the CFTC. In addition, there will be a leadership change at the SEC, which has previously accepted tokenized assets as collateral for transactions.

Coinbase has signed a sponsorship agreement with the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers, becoming the official partner of the Los Angeles Clippers. The partnership marks a multi-year partnership that will provide fans with exclusive experiences, limited-edition merchandise, and unique digital and physical collectibles. Financial details of the partnership have not been disclosed. Coinbase will offer new and existing users $5 worth of bitcoin, as well as seasonal benefits for creating Coinbase accounts. The Coinbase brand will be widely featured on signage inside the Intuit Dome, the first time the Clippers have used the new venue as their home this year. Previously, Coinbase and the NBA Jinzhou Brave reached a cooperation, its brand will appear in the Datong Center and the team's limited version of the merchandise prominent position.

Russia's state tax agency has confirmed that Russian businesses are applying for crypto mining licenses, with 150 applications submitted so far. The head of the Federal Tax Service, Daniel Egorov, said the applications were all filed after Nov. Registrants must provide the Federal Tax Agency with data on the crypto assets they mine, crypto wallet addresses and other identifiers. Private miners who consume less than 6,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per month are exempt from registration.
