Our top priority this week is fixing spam in popular channels. The core problem is: - Channels with large distribution attract casters - Some casters post spam or even just slightly off topic stuff - Moderating it is exhausting and thankless We want to find a solution that can be decentralized across clients.

The main goals are: - Make the channel high quality for the average viewer - Minimize actions the host needs to take - Be easily decentralizable

We shipped channel passes a few weeks ago to a handful of channels - it helped, but wasn't sufficient to prevent spam. We're going to extend the idea of passes with some more features that will make channels more "self moderating". Preview to come soon!

I think the channel passes idea is not a viable solution. The incentive to spam and scam is very high. Those accounts will gladly pay for any pass as long as it is economically viable. I will not pay for anything if you just price me out because this is not the open internet we need.
