The lawsuit launched by Consensys against the Securities and Exchange Commission and SEC Chair Gary Gensler was dismissed in a Texas court on Thursday night. The Consensys suit was originally filed in April and contained some bombshells including the allegation that the SEC had opened an investigation into Ethereum and that the regulator had issued the company behind MetaMask a Wells notice. https://blockworks.co/news/consensys-lawsuit-against-sec-dismissed

WalletConnect, a web3 communications protocol that connects crypto wallets to decentralized applications, is set to launch its native Connect Token (WCT) on Optimism's Mainnet, an Ethereum Layer 2 network. The token will also be airdropped to users. Registration for the WCT airdrop will open on September 24. WalletConnect Inc. has rebranded to Reown. The WCT token will have an initial supply capped at 1 billion, with 18.5% — or 185 million tokens — allocated for airdrop season 1, Houlgrave told The Block.
