People donโ€™t want to see uninteresting replies and casts. Best way to solve for that is weight historical inbound engagement for a user, i.e. PageRank-like score for every user. Disproportionally hurts new accounts. Making it harder to get started.

This is fundamentally caused by the lack of negative signal in the Twitter model. Try giving users the equivalent of a downvote button Icon proposal: ๐Ÿ™„

riffing off this idea, there could even be 3-5 options for the like & dislike buttons, selected via long press rated by the algorithm as +, ++, +++, and -, โ€”, โ€”-
