I was at a dinner once (peak 2022 NFT bubble) talking with a first-time founder who was building a media company. I genuinely liked the concept and felt Pinata would be a great tool for them to handle the media so they could focus on distribution. They proceeded to tell me that they were going to build all the infra themselves and that we would be competitors long-term. That company no longer exists. Shame, really. Would have been a wonderful customer.

If they really said so, it can be assumed they would have quickly failed for a different reason anyways. The mortality rate of that cohort was very high, as expected.
