"why is farcaster's user growth slowing down, even reversing?" many people that $DEGEN and derivatives brought to the platform weren't users, they were locusts. they came, extracted what they wanted and left. some stayed and became valuable members, some were harmful. resources that could've been spent on improving the platform were redirected into battling all the negative side-effects. farcaster didn't thrive. it survived. don't get me wrong, i love these experiments — degen mindset is builder mindset — but if you're doubting farcaster based on naive data points, you're gonna have a bad time. maybe this is not the right place for you at this moment. and that's ok. however, if you accept we're in the early phases and there are still many roadblocks to overcome, so much left to build (and sunset too), and that it's you who can shape its future, you will be much happier. farcaster is what we make it to be.

Reward System Focused on Simple Interactions If $moxie tokens are distributed based on interactions like likes, comments, and recasts, users may be incentivized to focus on simple activities just to receive rewards, rather than making meaningful contributions to the platform. This can undermine FC original goal of fostering constructive discussions and producing high-quality content. To truly grow and improve the platform, the reward system needs to be redesigned to encourage users to create real value. Emphasizing Quantity over Quality This reward structure encourages users to increase the quantity of their interactions, which could lead to a rise in low-quality content. This, in turn, can degrade the overall user experience on the platform and drive away loyal users. Instead, there needs to be a system that recognizes and rewards meaningful contributions that enhance the quality of the community. It is time to look around with a broader perspective
