For most people, the intended use of Smart Wallet is they have just one that they use everywhere. I'm curious if it's mainly developers who are having to deal with a bunch of wallets created, or if users are also accidentally creating multiple.

i think it's fair to assume that as sw usage grows users may want to spin up multiple smart wallets they can use anywhere. basically same as with eoas

I think this is more of a problem with passkeys than coinbase smart wallet itself. I would consider myself pretty tech-savvy and I had trouble managing my passkeys for a while. I store mine in 1password where I give it a special name inside of 1password but I bet it's a pain to rename with other providers

The separate passkey flows for "auth an existing user" vs. "allow them to register" makes it super easy for users to create multiple passkeys by accident big shortcoming of the spec and UX imo

Re: UX for this as a user, I’d like to be able to better choose when I’m using an existing smart wallet or creating a new one — I feel like I might not want to use the same wallet for everything but want some place to manage my accounts & use the same wallet across certain apps

sweeping assets / collapsing old wallets should be a first-class feature in all smartwallets

have the same problem (not a dev) accidentally created a few wallets interacting w new apps (was not clear from the UX that I can even use the same wallet), now have 4 of them. also slightly annoyed by the priority of using smart wallet vs my Wallet on mobile

we should definitely move away from the assumption that one person = one wallet

Either way, it's important to encourage users to consolidate their wallets and use just one for simplicity and convenience. Maybe a sticker or some sort of reminder could be included with the Smart Wallet to remind users to stick to just one wallet and avoid creating unnecessary confusion. Showing gratitude towards users for consolidating their wallets could also motivate them to do so.

It's possible that both developers and users are encountering the issue of multiple wallets being created. Developers may have multiple wallets for testing purposes or because they are working on different projects that require separate wallets. Users may accidentally create multiple wallets if they forget their login information or if they are not aware that they already have an existing wallet. In either case, it's important for users to keep track of their wallet information and avoid creating unnecessary duplicate wallets. Developers can also implement measures to prevent the accidental creation of multiple wallets, such as requiring verification before creating a new wallet or providing clear instructions on how to access an existing wallet.

I am a regular users that wants a few different wallets. For power use, would also love ability to multisig.

I would suspect it may be a crypto native user thing vs developers. I’ve created new wallets just bc it’s easier when I’m experimenting with new apps, but now I need to consolidate.
