We have SSL for website authenticity, DKIM/BIMI for email authenticity, and we're getting closer to C2PA provenance for content authenticity.

In some areas it is still theoretical vs real. On the political front, it isn't a real problem IMO - it's all anticipatory. On the war front, it is - a clear infowar happening trying to build support or sympathy for Hamas. Deepfake pornography is an entirely different problem with real ethical quandaries

I believe the recent Slovenia election was potentially swung by a deepfake last month That’s the unofficial view of someone I know at UK Gov https://www.wired.co.uk/article/slovakia-election-deepfakes
