I had a front-row seat to Adobe's AI work in both product and research, so I felt pretty strongly that it would be quite hard for any startup to compete with the incumbents distribution, data, and budget for compute. I'm still not sure if I was right or wrong.

photoshop ai tools look incredible it seems they're trying to enhance productivity than stimulate creativity what are your thoughts?

biased since the leaders of it are friends. but it is really incredible. and they are true believers in a) reducing annoying tasks while b) helping everyone be more creative.

i hear that two totally different products, really it seems the new image generation tools are geared for even non-designers, whereas the default photoshop app is a pro platform i find it pretty complex, and i only use 10-20 of its features

that's 9-19 more than me :) but adobe express is good (and getting better) and I imagine we'll see lots more photo innovation coming to Lightroom

lol, yeah they're a great company from my pov, i think they can do also do a lot more web based tooling like their free mov-to-gif converter, that i use all the time
