Putin's proposal from yesterday speech: Ukraine withdraws forces from administrative borders of 4 regions, takes neutrality (+ other stuff negotiated during initial peace talks at Istanbul), recognised all annexed and conquered territories including Crimea as part of Russia. Basically a peace treaty. wdyt?

Even if Ukraine would be desperate enough to accept it, don’t think Russia will stop there

It will just give Russia a lot of momentum to build more tanks, ammunition etc for the next time they have the logistics in place and improving, while spending a huge % of GDP on it

it depends, if it is an actual peace treaty was reached it would introduce a bunch of somewhat significant hurdles and complications to violate it in the future vs just freezing conflict to restart it later on. But there is definitely growing influence of war lobbies and if results won't be too satisfying for either or both sides, restart can always be the case :(

unless they’re willing to put like $100 billion under US or third party authority which could be taken in case they do smth towards a war again

yes the thing is there’s nothing left to violate for complications or setup new to violate, russia can do whatever it wants and it has been doing it for a while without any care about anything either inside of the country or outside
