I'll kick things off (from an angel investor perspective). I'm always surprised by 2 things: 1. Founders fundraising who don't use this format for their deck https://www.slideshare.net/PitchDeckCoach/sequoia-capital-pitchdecktemplate 2. Pre-Series B founders that don't send regular investor updates.

Re investor updates: Any thoughts on best practices for these (ie, format, what to include, leave out, etc)? I have a good idea, but curious what others think. Also, what to say to a founder who doesn't want to put the update in the body of an email because they're afraid it's too easy for someone to forward around?

https://warpcast.com/dwr.eth/0x9e19505d You can send 2 versions of the same update: - Your largest investor with more sensitive details - A broader investor update with the details removed That said, I think secrecy is overrated vs. consistent execution.

Ask for investors: - Core ask #1 - hiring dev, connections, etc… Keep to 1-3 asks and put at top of letter - Key Metrics - Update: features launched, partnerhips - What’s next (+travel plans) Tips: be honest (also about what’s not working), be brief, easy to write and read, do once every quarter/ 1-2 months
