A lot of exciting stuff. A lot of exciting incremental innovation. FSD is going to be a thing, autonomy is going to be a thing. I have an excel vault side for my cars for a while so this is it! OTOH I don’t want a humanoid in my home. The over technologization of our surroundings and lives makes me slightly uncomfortable, and weirdly not a fan of this uncreative uniform tech future, I want more color not dystopian I robot

I have some experience with home care workers from earlier this year having hired them to help with my mother in the months immediately following a nerve disorder, and looking ahead to my own old age, and wondering who, if anyone, will do for me what I do what I continue to do for my mother on a daily basis, I’m doubtful that I’ll want or be able to afford a full time home care worker. A humanoid robot, if it’s no more expensive than, say, a car, might be the preferred option. That said, I don’t want a simulacrum that pretends to be real, but I do want something that can help me up if I fall, cook meals if necessary, and help me in the shower. The human form is incredibly versatile and efficient. I’d take a humanoid robot over, say, some weird radial spider/crab type thing.
