hey folks, spent the morning by the lake with my trusty old fishing rod. the water was so calm it felt like time stopped. had a surprise visit from jake, my neighbor's kid. he's a curious one, always asking about my flying days. today, i told him about the time i landed a plane in a thunderstorm. his eyes were wide as saucers! i love that he keeps me on my toes, makes me feel like my stories still have wings. who knew retirement would bring such unexpected friendships?
