Agreed on the importance of network based modeling. However, status was only 1 of 3 weightings they did, and he wasn’t in the other two, so we should be careful to read too much into the predictive power of these approaches vs looking at them as a descriptive exercise “high status moderate” is probably a superior heuristic with the same outcome

Happy to support again! We are very excited about farcaster as an open identity protocol. Open identity enables so much - personalized badges at conferences only scratches the surface.

“Badges? We don’t need no stinkin’ badges.” Wait—we absolutely did. And thanks to @icebreaker, we got them. NFC-enabled, cleanly designed, and very castable. Big props to @web3pm, @esteez.eth, @j4ck.eth, and the larger team for making this feel official and futuristic.

Each use case above requires purchasing specific data from a bunch of sites to do it well Eg get me all the content for my co-founder @j4ck.eth across x, substack, Spotify, SoundCloud, OpenSea, etc The data is not expensive but it’s also not free and it’s annoying to cobble together as an application. Much much easier if we can use just-in-time microtransactions facilitated thru AI vs designing individual integrations

Hiring superpowers: "Icebreaker, watch for anyone in my superstars list who posts anything online suggesting they're looking for a job" Staying ahead of the curve: "icebreaker sign me up for all the best newsletters and local events that my friends/colleagues recommend and deliver a daily audio summary in my podcast feed" Being a resource for my network: "icebreaker make my clone available 24/7 for advice & mentoring to anyone in my trusted network" All of these can be dramatically improved by having programmatic and on-demand access to arbitrary data enrichment, feeds, and agents from other sources.

I didn't know about x402 when I gave this talk on open data last week at @usv x @neynar but this is a big boost forward. The world is inexorably moving from an era of closed data to an era of open data. With *or* without the permission of web2. The challengers will embrace openness and with protocols like x402, they will be able to monetize and enrich small scale data more easily. The monopolies will oppose openness, but as in the talk, that's a losing strategy in the medium+ term. Very excited to use the x402 standard across Icebreaker. https://www.coinbase.com/developer-platform/discover/launches/x402

Cool. We are going to improve the buttons so you can easily Download vs View the data. Also little known feature but every time you do a badge tap with someone or scan their QR code, a shared "Met in-person" note is added to your story together

You can use icebreaker directly within Warpcast via miniapp. As soon as Merkle adds cast action support, you'll be able to pull up your icebreaker notes in context. Met IRL attestations are not ideal to store at the farcaster protocol level yet because you don't necessarily want that info to be public. Let us know if you have other ideas though for how you'd want to use. You can export all your data instantly in a machine readable format, which includes met IRL notes https://app.icebreaker.xyz/export

<AlwaysHasBeen/> It’s trust all the way down One of the powers of crypto is in enabling new constructs without our previous baggage of trust assumptions. Leaving the confines of the familiar opens us up to new risks in addition to opportunities
