I miss the feeling of going to the shop to buy a cd of a new album by a band i liked not knowing what songs are there. I might have heard a single or two and that's it. The coming back home and listening to that album from beginning to an end. What an experience and a journey. Now i just listen to new albums on Spotify and it gives me zero emotions. Most of the times it just becomes background noise and i just don't even remember half of it. How do you listen to new music? Preorder a record or a CD? Still not nearly as much fun. @mightymoss @j4ck.eth FC music frens tell me about your rituals

i’m a spotify hardo and my lens is my next gig or event. i like to use it as a forcing function to explore a genre and its history and then whats current, with curation at the core i was never really a physical crate digger but have started buying vinyl as i find it and gonna get a setup bandcamp is also popping w artists but i find the UX so atrocious i can’t even use it optimistic about subvert.fm i agree in the endless music era it’s hard. you just have to choose to care and keep interest i think

i also really like to use everynoise.com and playlistmachinery.com to parse the spotify catalogue in different ways to find insights / artists i’d miss otherwise
