Geoengineering be like: We’re gonna use lead paint to make all out plastic waste white and then dump it in the arctic ocean to lower the albedo of the sea and cool the earth.

Alright so let’s break something down here: Sunlight is all life on earth’s food. Not metaphorically, but literally. Highly energetic photons which drive photosynthesis. Infrared light is poop. The waste energy of cellular and industrial processes. You can’t eat less to fix a clogged toilet.

I dont start to really dig in. But there is some rare organism that use infrared radiation for photosynthesis (there is some exemple of such bacteria in thermal vents). Pretty sure that using synbio, some cool idea could come to mind.

There is an absolute minimum photon energy that could be used for photosynthesis, I think it’s in the near infrared or highest end of the infrared range. Much less efficient though. I guess that’s the plant version of eating another’s waste 😂

Sure but it works because photosynthetic organisms are found at thermal vent where there is no visible light
