Maybe global-south nations who will be most hit by climate change will start threatening to do this unilaterally; even if other techniques are ultimately better, perhaps they need the push to get to the finish line

"Climate change will make the earth inhospitable for human life" and "but we can't solve it THAT WAY!" are fundamentally incompatible notions.

If a patient has a cold, you give them tea and natural remedies. If a patient has cancer, you give them chemotherapy.

Salt in atmosphere will probably kill all photosynthetic organism on land. It would probably be disastrous. 
Other funny way is to nuke the surface of the moon with atomics bombs to send a cloud of opaque microparticule between earth and moon. (But it will probably destroy all satellites in orbit)
