still amazes me how people can say "let's kill more conscious beings" when it's unnecessary and be proud of it

Humans are often unnecessarily cruel. It’s our nature.

Scorpions, spiders, etc. all brutally murder their preys. There is nothing cruel or unnecessary if animals kill for food. The same shall apply to humans

the only caveat is that humans don't need to kill for food, unlike animals

so this cruelty is unnecessary
