when it comes to amplifiers, the amount of heat generated is determined in part by the topology. most modern solid-state amps are class AB, basically class A (lots of heat) until a certain amount of watts output then class B from that point onwards. the higher the class A bias, the sweeter the sound but also those class A watts are “always on” and generating heat. great sounding amps often have a very high class A bias, in some cases 50W or more. so, no way around the huge heatsinks since you need to constantly dissipate that heat. fans are basically a non-starter given that they’re always going to be audible in a decent room. in terms of how this system compared to comparable systems, I don’t think I’ve ever heard another $1M+ system. from the six figure systems I’ve heard, it’s definitely top of the heap for detail retrieval but I find the presentation too cold and analytical. the room also had a significant bass null where we were sitting which made the low-end response a bit anemic.

Have you ever made your own speakers? (From a kit for example) Also curious if you had like 100$ 1000$ 10000$ sound setups what would they be? My partner is a painter and finally got some powered Klipsch speakers for her studio ( I know not component, and not really hifi) but light years better than her Bluetooth she had been using.
