On one hand this is indeed devastating. On the other hand, Nintendo (and other gaming cos) isn’t exactly known for great launches. Inventory shortages, etc. plus they had already announced a game hike to $80-90. Seems convenient for them tbh. I suspect we’ll see a lot more like this using tariffs as an excuse.

This exact topic has been an ongoing discussion between my friends and I since late last year. We weren't sure how the timing of Switch 2 was going to work out with tariffs and even when the price was announced the other we weren't sure if they had priced in the tariffs etc. Glad this is only effecting the USA cause the higher cost of games, more expensive memory cards etc were already hard enough lol. But hey, I needed a reason to finally upgrade to a 4K TV cause I've been putting it off for too long. i was thinking that the tariffs could actually help level up the field of the world, because if there is a blockage of economical energy from the us towards the world, the natural equilibrium will be that the world will have to talk more to itself, and that could eventually be a positive outcome... but who knows i don't really understand any of this
