In contrast, PoW networks may be subject to control by a few large mining pools, increasing centralization and potential attack risks. Increased Security: PoS can enhance the security of the network as attackers would need to control a significant portion of the cryptocurrency in the network to mount an attack. Such an attack, known as a "51% attack," is easier to achieve in PoW and more difficult in PoS.
