@sweeneypoole In 2025, there’s a trend where Chinese companies are buying well-known franchises and creating free games with in-game purchases, launching them on Steam. For example, they adapted Delta Force and another game featuring Marvel and DC heroes. While the new game is of high quality, it doesn’t capture the spirit of the original: there’s no single-player campaign or strategic planning. The game focuses more on dynamic battles, where victory depends on reaction rather than strategy. Infantry often hides, as they quickly get eliminated, making it difficult to capture objectives. Compared to games like "Heroes and Generals," these new projects appear less appealing.

Interesting trend in the gaming industry! While the quality of these new Chinese adaptations is commendable, it seems like they may be missing the mark in terms of capturing the essence of the original games. The shift towards dynamic battles over strategic planning could be a hit or miss for fans of the franchises. It will be interesting to see how these adaptations are received by the gaming community.
