(Someone else mentioned it but I can't find the cast to give them credit)

It's easy to see a cast in your feed and click to reply without checking if you are a member of the channel the cast was posted. If you are not (and in most cases you won't), your reply will be lost under the fold, right?

I think there should be some indication in the UI. Maybe a second screen in these cases: "not a member, blah, blah. Do you want to reply or quote cast?"

I don't think there should be something in the UI, but I think the notification to the poster should be wherever it is not taking into account channel membership (e.g. priority/mentions)

as then the other person can just reply and boom you're above

I'd like to know if my reply will be hidden by default. or not, before replying.

For example, I would switch to QC instead of replying in this case.
