Some things you once wanted with all your heart gradually lose their significance. And that’s completely natural. The job you thought would make you happy. The person you believed you couldn’t live without. The definition of success you built in your younger days. One day, you think about them, and you feel nothing—no regret, no longing. You simply make peace with yourself and realize that you’ve changed. It’s strange to mourn something you no longer desire, to remember how hard you once fought for it, and to wonder who you were when it mattered so much. But maybe that’s the sign of growth when you can stand where you are now and no longer wish to be anywhere else.

Yes, over time we realize that many of our desires were not about happiness, but about who we were then. And it is okay to let them go, not with regret, but with gratitude for the experience.

I agree. As we age, our thoughts undergo many changes. Our criteria and standards change, and we must adapt to them.
