My hot take re "too much investment in infra": there's too much investment in *some kinds of infra* and not enough in others, and what's actually going on is, people want to invest in "the casino" but still feel good about themselves, so they invest in the subset of infra that gets spillover profits from the casino.

And not enough investment in OPEN SOURCE infra... we are still quite small and need to foster innovation, not close it off.

1. if infra is overinvested, then what do you feel is underinvested in? 2. so is investing in infra the crypto version of a virtue signaling / impact investment approach?

eth is neutral, but if tons of memecoin trading/nft minting happening result in blockspace becoming a hot commodity, eth would certainly get spillover benefits despite the fact that the chain itself is built for better things

More investment is needed in infrastructure to make it easier for developers to get started and for users to get started, so there is no need for so many repeated projects.

My god this is perfect and helps me reconcile a conversation about the topic from yesterday. Do we want to invest in a token utility infra, incentivizing user behavior in several different ways? Or focusing on the token is too morally 'Casino'-ish Thanks a lot

I'm not sure it's as much a moral question as it is a question of returns
