Was there any geopolitics discussion at the network state conf? Like, "what role should the network state movement have in the context of politics in many major countries worldwide going totally crazy, driving out talent and putting us at risk of an even-more-major war in the next 10 years?" or any similar questions?

Good q. It was a background theme, which we didnโ€™t want to emphasize too much because Twitter is about political discussion while this conference is about meta-political action. However, see talks by Tyson (https://youtu.be/7-2tRd4iqWo?feature=shared ) and St Onge (https://youtu.be/qHuEnxRyVU0?feature=shared).

It was more about showcasing parallel societies/institutions. In order to progress from here people need to get behind a specific vision that tackles geo politics head-on. @balajis.eth โ€™s Grey Tribe concept could beceome such a rallying point.

It feels like most subject were very targeted around certain use cases or locations, not so much about politics Very interesting stuff around monetary policy and the impact of biased journalism though

not sure, but my answer would be along the lines of "the protocol on which this sits should be fully operational & beneficial regardless of the national/collusional/delusional baggage on which it's appended".

I donโ€™t remember trad politics being a direct subject on stage More about stuff that is infrastructure for a new parallel politics (eg, real estate, education, finance)

there was a discussion on physical security but not geopolitics. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=x-GfuIFkB_Y&t=18742s most city projects that presented such as prospera and praxis, at this point, intends to work with host states rather than pursuing the network state path

Little of that was present. Except maybe the final words of @balajis.eth. it was about real estate projects on private islands. Then about communities, parallel media, etc and the upcoming financial collapse. I think the conference was also a social experiment to find the hardcore fans and see whoโ€™s ready to join.

Crypto networks should be free from geopolitics. we cannot look for differences between us and strive to create goodness and privacy.

Would love to see dialogues similar to this: https://lkyspp.nus.edu.sg/ips/events/details/singapore-perspectives-2022-city "We will explore how Singapore (network states?) can further actualise this vision by extending beyond the physical city to embrace new digitally-enabled financial, economic and social spaces"
