This is amazing. Ideally restaurants would just price using AMM curves. https://twitter.com/MorePerfectUS/status/1762251031910728069

Problem is they are only exploring the surge and not the reduction of prices in slow times. I want half-priced square hamburger meat.

hm... why is this amazing? What problem does it solve? Have not been at Wendy's really but long lines aren't usually a problem at restaurants and the equivalent for "off-peak" pricing is usually just called "lunch menu" or "happy hour". On the downside there is IMO also a mental cost of "hyper financialization".

I’m not so optimistic. I’m not sure what incentive Wendy’s has to use this model to the benefit of customers vs to the detriment. Obviously they can’t deviate far above market prices, but this falls more into the Boring Dystopia category for me.

Nothing than another money grab attempt, just like subscription based models for everything. People need to fight back and avoid companies that try to rip them off and make them dependent. We increasingly become slaves to a governmental-industrial complex (some argue we ever been, but it is intensifying)!
