I really hate this trend where people claim they’re neurodivergent

Is your issue with the word itself that is the wrong word to use or with people claiming neurodivergence when they don’t actually have it? Or that everyone is neurodivergent to some degree because of how our brains work and the line is arbitrary? Or because why use big word when small word do same thing?

For me this is spot on. I have a child with asd, and I know that some are more diverse than others. To the same extent I also don't know many "average" people. All brains are unique.

I always hear it used as a way to excuse some kind of maladaptive behavior. Like being unable to focus or procrastinating. There certainly are neurodivergent people, just don’t self proclaim it

Word itself is wrong, people are overusing it, it's an arbitrary line, and yes don't say nvd, just own whatever it is (asd, ADHD, etc) I once read that there is no example of an average mind in real life. Average means that some definition was pulled together from larger samples. No 2 minds are alike, like fingerprint
