no tent stakes (not substantial enough). no rebar (too much effort, and pointy). instead, lag bolts with a couple of chain links attached.

I love going into the hardware store and asking for a couple of dozen 2-link chains. They usually won't talk to me by the end. Last time they just let me cut them myself.
