I have now started reading 4 different paragraph posts in the past 24 hours and every single time that subscribe with your email pop up shows up I drop off and never finish reading the article

Is anyone tracking how these popups are leading to less engagement with content on paragraph?

Yeah I turned that shit off right off the bat because I knew it would annoy me so it will definitely annoy any readers I manage to score.

I looked at the numbers right now and they aren't driving a meaningful level of subscriptions so I just disabled it by default for new users

I am reluctant to eliminate the feature entirely since for some creators it has driven a large number of subs

I can add a toggle from the reader perspective to disable?

I turn them off for my posts.
Would be better if they were default off to begin with, tbh.
